How the #### do you remove these little round map lights?
I have a new upper header panel and want to transfer them over but after an hour just gave up for now.
I dont want to break anything....
Dumb question on map lights...

Take a picture of the back side of the lights.
I'd say they have squeeze tabs without seeing. The indents(tits) look like they keep it from spinning. -
If those are the ones right over the dash(in the middle) I seem to remember you push them in and turn them,,hope that works 4 yah
-
the ones in my truck have a locking ring on the back, (be careful they break easily!)

No screws, tabs or locking ring.
By the straight scrape marks on the bottom pic, it looks like a precision fit and pressed in. The top pic, bottom right hole looks like maybe glue behind it?
If they won't budge pushing from the back or pushing through them holes with a screw driver or similar...
maybe put some heat to it
or if you are trashing the old one, cut a diagonal line to each light and snap the metal in half. -
KWPartsGuy on here is going to work today and will ask them at the shop.
I'm still baffled....CondoCruiser Thanks this. -
The 4 holes have a purpose.
Either to put dabs of glue in or to remove the light.
Surely that guy can tell you.
They probably have a $500 special socket that slides over top and pushes on all 4 at the same time.Working Class Patriot Thanks this. -
KW gets $15 a piece for the little rubber grommets that the CB coax feeds out of on the side of the cab.
Gee, and I thought $355.00 for a sleeper alarm clock was excessive! -
I tore mine out last summer. They are a mother ****** to get out and I ended up busting mine. I tore em out to make room for a VHF radio. Those header map lights were useless, to me anyway.
