dsd! i knew it was there somewhere. thanks. i haven't, the job i have now is pretty secure and i'm planning on staying here for a while. we don't currently have tractor trailers but i have brought it up to my boss, in the summer we get tons of stuff brought in so maybe instead of paying freight companies i can do those runs, who knows what can happen maybe i'll quit but right now i'm not out looking for a new job, the pay is good here, i like everyone i work with.

Im in the same boat. Got a lot of sheetrock too. It is hard on the body though. The knees, back, and shoulders really start to hurt everyday after doing it long enough.

yeah i cant say i miss the lumber yard job that much. one time they sent me out with a 26' 2x14 LVL ridge board. i was by myself, shipping told me there would be someone at the job to help me unload it since it had to go around the back. i get there, no one is home, not only that, the house is on a very steep hill and they needed this thing behind the house. so i stupidly decided to bring it around back by myself. if theres any advice i can offer you, dont strain your body, work quick, but dont strain yourself, its not worth the injury. sheet rock sucked. i had two full lifts to bring into a basement by myself and it was on a very windy day. at least they had a walk out basement... then every once in a while they'd give me a drop load of 2x4's or something lol. i liked those runs.

yeah i would like to get on with a teamster company. i talked with a guy that drove a produce truck made 31 bucks an hour. not too bad for driving a straight truck. my job is pretty good, i go in basically anytime i want just as long as its before 6am, and on average i'm clocked out at 2pm and my plant is 10 minutes from my house.

i'm pretty happy with it, i would like more money but i can pay all my bills and put food on the table with out really watching my money so i cant complain. i've kept my overhead low so i dont need to make 900 bucks a week to make a decent life for myself. but the future is coming, my long term goal is to have my own truck, i'll get there someday, but for right now im just 22, i've bought a house, so i can just coast for the next decade if i want lol
