Usually we have customers refuse dirty containers, but on occasions we do have customers refuse clean containers. Normally, this happen with a brand new container, while it may be a food grade box, because it's so new, the urethane smell from the floor might still be present, or there is still a lingering odor from the paint or some other sealant. Sometimes we luck out and can just spray the inside of the can with febreeze, wait 30 minutes with the doors closed, and they will load it, other times they just flat out refuse it for odor and want a new one.
tucker Thanks this. -
But , but ... This is a new one!!!

@striker
You never drive with the doors open?(offcourse secured with straps)
Here it is done for some lets say more difficult loading places. -
Had a shipper going to refuse a trailer because it smelled of tobacco! Till I pointed out I was picking up cigarette wrappers! Could all but see the light turn on!
Socal Xpress, daf105paccar and Lepton1 Thank this. -
We had an O/O that used to do that, we used to load glass cleaner at one place, drive 8 blocks and unload at another, until the day two of the pallets shifted and fell of the trailer. Neither customer was happy, the receiver refused the delivery, so he had to take it back to the shipper, have them rebuild the pallets, repackage some bottles, rewrap the pallets. They charged us (the trucking company), we inturn deducted it from his settlement, and after that it was not so nicely phrased is something you will never ever do again.
