97 International dump truck is bouncing/hopping. Not like the death wobble. Steering wheel doesn't move but the truck bounces even on flat surface. Thought maybe it was the tires so put 10 brand new tires on and it made the bounce WORSE!!! Had front end checked out and it was all good. Good tire rods, kingpins, leak springs, brakes were good. It bounces consistently through all speeds when before it was only at 45-50+ mph. Tried putting it in neutral going 45-50 and still bounced. Alignment was done as well. Taking it back to tire guy on monday to make sure tires were properly balanced and mounted. The cab is leaning to the left a good 3-4 inches. Could the cab mounts cause bouncing after all new tires installed and cause worse bouncing? I need suggestions please. Thank you!

    So many questions...

Is this a new to you truck? Did this suddenly happen or just get worse over time? Is it the back-end or front-end or more on one side...

If a truck has a shorter wheelbase like a 15 foot bed or something like that with a Hendrickson suspension that truck will bounce you around all over the place empty. Longer wheelbase is like 17 1/2 or longer beds do better. Loaded rides nice.

There are a lot of reasons a truck can feel like it bounces. Try to be as specific as you can and maybe someone can help you.

Pay to have all tires bal. that should make a big diff. in the ride?

Cab bushings would make the cab lean.

I’ve had the truck over 3 years and it slowly got worse over time. Took a couple buddies for a ride, some say bounce some say wobble. We can’t seem to figure out where it’s coming from. Front end was checked and good. The bed is 18ft so longer wheelbase. When it’s loaded it is 100X worse! Now in 5th gear it bounces more when before it’ll only do it 7th plus. Thank you everyone for your responses!

Have you checked your U-joints wheel bearings and universals and pinions?

If they are spoke wheels are you sure everything is true? If not inexpensive tires can be out of Round right from the factory.

We have a 96 Pete 357 that does the same thing and Im guessing that if both sets of wheels were off the ground to where it could be run up to 45 MPH there would be a hole lot of shaking going on because of unbalanced tires.

I'd check the shocks which a lot of people don't understand is actually what keeps the tires on the pavement.
I'd also balance every tire on the truck.

I'd like to know what suspension is in the truck. Could be very usefully in the diagnosis.
