That's a good deal and I wish we had that here for aggregates. For harvest we have an agricultural exemption that covers the product....fruit, grain, row crops etc... from initial point of harvest to first point of processing but after that it's just like anything else.
Loggers are also covered under the ag exemption...that includes ctl in the woods or on the landing because that's classed as preparation prior to transport...but as soon as the logs hit the sawmill or the chipper they're considered to be processed goods and regular rules apply.

Second trailer. Or cargo type box.

    Dump truck and pup. (Trailer)

Doubles. As in bellies or side dumps

Main and secondary. Main hauls more but secondary adds.

The ability to haul more weight.

In my line of work that’s what we call the single axle van trailers we put together as a set of doubles.

You can gross 80K with a single screw that way because now you have 5 axles instead of the 4 you’d have pulling a longbox with it.

    how long are those?

some trailers like end dumps and tankers i don't think can haul 80 because the bridge is too short.

    More like 76.

    in the western states.

Well, figure you have two 28’ trailers with about 5’ or so between them at the dolly, so I suspect bridge law is a non-issue there.

I have gotten tickets because of that with a dump trailer though. IIRC you need 36’ from the front drive to the rear trailer axle to be allowed 68K on both, and 51’ from the rear trailer to the steer for 80K.

39’ IIRC, 24-28’ is pretty standard MA spec for 99k but 72500 is all you can’t get legally into CT unless you buy a bridge permit, MA you can be whatever length but the shorter the set up the more expensive the overweight permit, my tractor is $62.50 for the year since it’s over a 250” wheel base and goes up from there

All I’ve seen from a friend locally is the Allison’s while the best auto, just make it easier for those that shouldn’t be in a truck to begin with to beat the #### out of it

You guys on the east don't follow federal weights and bridges.

    The west does.

So does FL, NC does. TN I believe looks more at the kingpin deal. VA can get crappy, and if it's over 34k on a tandem it's a ticket. We pay a lot of them with these 39' end dumps
