I was thinking of getting permits to haul heavy. Is there alot of places hauling scrap around NC,VA,TN SC maybe GA. And how's the work in the winter around here is it alot of work then and what do yall suggest I haul to maximize my job?

I don't personally see the need to haul heavy, at least not the way you're describing. And as far as the overweight permit deal, I'm not sure NC does that for a load like scrap metal. I know they allow 90k on 5 for unfinished forest products.

As far as scrap moving, I'm sure there is with Nucor in Darlington and Charlotte, but getting work out of there might be iffy.

What types of jobs are yall running/hauling on the East Coast or NC? I was trying to heavy haul with a tri axle day cab and 36ft 6 axle end dump mac trailer. Are the winters bad out here or you can always have work to do? End dump is my favorite and want to get all the info before moving forward. I appreciate you all support. I thought NC could haul 117k with a permitt? Are they any good company's that's recommended?

Hauling heavy may not be worth it. There will be times, that a particular contract or a bid job explicitly forbids any overweight loads to to local roads, or traversing across residential area’s. If the trailer or box is properly outfitted, hauling dig-out or clean out should not be too much of a hurdle.

Sounds good I appreciate all the feedback you all are giving me to make the right decisions. Weird question. Are the Cat 660's with the c15 motors, are they good or crap it has 550hp quad axle and about 150k miles it's a 2012 year? Its something about them that i like and wanted to know if they are a good buy and how hard a parts to get to them i have a CAT dealer here in Raleigh NC?I will look around NC and VA,TN and SC for work on end dumps. Are the winters good for end dumping?
