Care to explain the advantage of it being on the rear? Please? I've pretty much always ran a spread and I've always had them on the front axle flip the switch it pets pressure off the bags I turn flip the switch and they go back to normal. Sorry if I sound rude not trying to he, just curious.

turns shorter and less pressure left on the rear axle so it will slide alittle better. I normally run dual dumps with 2 switches so i can dump either axle.

If you dump the front the weight is still hanging over it verus the rear only has the tail weight left over it. its not much difference biggest is the quicker turn

    Hanadarko and TwinStickPeterbilt Thank this.

Any flatbed I've pulled didn't have a constant leak from the exhaust port of the HCV when the rear axle was dumped. Sum ting wong somewhere.

The HCV has a neutral position of so many degrees. I think mine is 10. It can't be open to the air bags AND open to the exhaust port at the same time.

Is your HCV on the rear axle?

    HAHA!
    :biggrin_2559:

The HCV is on the REAR axle...same one that dumps.

I'm going to double check that an air line isnt swapped with another.
I personally installed this entire system and it worked when I installed it and I hadn't noticed anything odd until just the other day.

I did have some work done and maybe it got swapped. The solenoid doesnt have the ports labeled very well. So if the IN and CYL got swapped, when the dump valve was active, it could be tying the IN and EXH together - but that doesnt explain the EXH out the HCV at this point.

Or, the solenoid (while new) isn't closing the valve all the way and could end up with all 3 ports tied together I suppose. I need to visually look at this as soon as the parking lot dries up.

Ok...Well today I checked, all of the air lines were run correctly and hooked up exact.
However, I could no longer duplicate this issue ?!

...maybe the trailer wasn't level or the suspension would bound somehow and causing Sum Ting Wong ?!

That's what the mechanic would write up and then charge you $125 for looking at it! Good work.
