Verizon is top dog of data but I cant comment much on the quality of voice since I rarely talk on the phone unless its work related stuff. Future cell phone plans will probably de-emphasoze voice and focus on data since fewer people actually talk on the phone as a means of communicating anymore. Texting is so much more efficient since it eliminates the needless blah blah blah.
Dumped Sprint for Verizon

Our new Verizon plan, Nationwide Unlimited, 3 phones, 4 gig shared, is going to cost us $205 mo. Sprint was costing us $250+ a mo. I will say that up until last month the Sprint plan covered 4 lines. Oldest step-daughter thought she needed the newest iphone, so dropped off the plan. Also that Sprint plan was at an employee discount. That same step-daughter used to work for Sprint, but was laid off about 5 yrs ago. Sprint however allowed us to keep the employee discount. $250mo, employee discount, I wonder what it would be without that?
Verizon pricey? AT&T must really be cheap. My step-daughter has to select a new plan that will not have the employee discount, since we dropped them. What she learned was that it will be costing her roughly $85-100 a month for a single phone/line. Seems to me that's a little less than what you're paying with AT&T. -
I have had Sprint for years. Currently have 4 lines with unlimited data. That is the only thing that matters to me because of Google Maps and such when on the road. My normal lanes I have no issue, except when heading into N. Wis or the UP of MI. I have ran the west, WY, Western Nebraska, the Dakotas and a few other spots didn't have any coverage or were roaming. Yes, that sucks. All in all, I have nothing to complain. NOW, comparing everything that every carrier has to offer and what I need it for.... Sprint has always won. Do I like everything they do? NOPE, but for my use, AT&T or Verizon would cost me more. 4 gig shared data??? Hell, I would go through that in a week some months. Just saying to each his own.

i pay verizon $160. for the same services i was giving sprint $80. but with sprint my internet wasn't capped. neither was mobile to mobile. and i could call landlines for free after 7.
sprint has always been the best deal. i've had them for 15 years. when my contract is up i try a verizon phone and they've ALWAYS sucked. so i stay with sprint.
sprint also doesn't control your phone like verizon does. nor does sprint repprogram your phone in the middle of the night. 4 years ago verizon erased google search and loaded bing on everyones phone. and did some other tampering that made a lot of people dump there service.
sprint may not have the biggest selection of phones. but there quality always beat verizon phones. for the same brand. sprint also has the better software development dept. i have yet to see a good software upgrade come from verizon. nor have i yet to have a good quality phone.
the lousy thing with sprint now, is the fact they chose wimax. for a 2 year contract and dumped them after 1 year. now they're behind the curve in trying to roll out there LTE. they were the first to offer 4g. 1 year before everyone else. now they are 2 years behind and still counting. i imagine that's going to cost them BIG TIME.
and i'm surprised dan hesse is still ceo.
you all brag about verizon being the stink on crap. but they're really not. verizon only has coverage in about 60 percent of the country. sprint has coverage in places verizon won't even think about covering. sprint also has coverage where verizon SHOULD be also.
the bottom line, is all carriers suck. but they can only do so much. i keep my sprint phone for mobile hotspot. since it's internet is unlimited. she comes in real handy. and when i'm out somewhere that verizon isn't. i can hotspot my sprint and use my verizon for voip phone calls. and when 4g comes out. i'll be able to watch movies without using my very limited internet cap with verizon. -
No bing on my phone and they do not have the ability to reprogram it at night. My phone requires approval.
Traveled with a guy with Sprint and he had no coverage and had to use my phone to call home.
But to each their own. -
there are places where your verizon doesn't work and sprint does. so don't pat yourself on the back too much.
-
Not very many.
I have never had to use a Sprint phone to call home. -
Sprint's coverage area sucks... And Sprint is the only one that I know who will send letters out threatening customers for using too much roaming area. By telling them that if they continue to use too much roaming area they will cancel their contracts.. Is Sprint wasn't so darn cheap and build themselves more cell towers they wouldn't have that problem
-
I don't see how 4gb is enough for you man. I have Verizon mifi currently at 20gb and I have to pace myself for that lol. I currently have Tmobile bb but I definitely will be switching to the new z10 from Verizon next week!!!
-
never gotten a letter from sprint. never got a threat from sprint. and sprint works in all of oklahoma and texas. and lots of stick towns in the west where verizon is non existent.
but verizon exists in lots of the NW where sprint doesn't. so it's basically equal. if sprint wasn't so dead in the NW. i'd stay with them instead of having both.
