Yeah, but I stopped driving food grade tanker in 1996, and even then people were tweaking about spillage. I got my ### duckwalked for rinsing cream yeast RESIDUE out of a five gallon bucket and dumping it down the storm drain at a fuel stop. Never did anything like that again. Been to lots of receivers like Lucy described, and just called dispatch and said, "Hey, I got a 15 gallon heel, what do ya want me to do?" 99% of the time it was "bring it back to the tank wash", the rest of the time it was either "Do everything possible with the receiver's assistance to SAFELY offload the remaining product." (Creative cribbing, forklift assist, yard goat, etc.), or "Screw it, you're toploading anyway."

Now the EPA is behind every tree, and dumping molasses fouls the ecosystem and endangers the southern furry-headed ant, whose larvae are savagely consumed by the bees attracted to the molasses that Lucy dropped......

I hope you can live with yourself, ANT KILLER! :p

I would tell to receiver that there was still some of THEIR product in the trailer. If they said to take it with me I would note that on the delivery receipt. Then my company could charge them for any extra tank wash charges

    Always check for heel
We are required to call dispatch before leaving or its on us @$50.00 a gallon, is what the tank wash charges. Customer either signs for the heel or they must take it. If its something that get top loaded then no big deal

Several years ago I saw a milk tanker overturn on the bridge in Charleston WV. Spilling into the river, you would have thought it was nuclear waste the way the authorities acted.

In a weird way it is. Milk will destroy the rivers ecosystem. We've had a few milk roll overs around here, its treated as hazmat because it doesnt belong where it spilled.

Pop the dome depending on the product. Call dispatch and if a regular customer they usually say roll with we will charge for disposal

Reminds me of this driver parked 30 feet from the front door of a Walmart. Every other truck was parked way out by the street but not this guy. He decided to block 20 spaces near the door. Then I guess he decided it was too far to walk inside so he stopped and pissed on his front tire in the middle of the day with people walking by. I quit OTR not long after that.

I always think twice about telling someone I drive a truck. I would hate for them to think I'm anything like these two "drivers".

"People reply so you drive a truck."
No I'm not a truck driver.
I do not claim truck driver status.
