I live in the truck (Otr) and I'm using a family members address in Tx to avoid income tax

I grew in North Jersey and my Dad still lives there so Im aware of the cost of living . I was in the miltary and ever since I got out I've been a vagabond

Im Just trying to get off the road and get something local . It doesn't have to be a dream job but $28 an hour seems good to me. My Dad makes $25 per hour driving a truck after 35 years with the same company and he's living well

$28 is not bad, but not great. rents up here are at a minimum of $500 to........$2,000 per month,. then utilities, cable tv, food, etc, etc. D/D does have employee discounts, from what i was told, but it may only be on thier products, not a wide array of other places to shop.

not a bad place to work at, i'd be happy working the yard myself. don't compare the cost of living in NJ to N.E.

This thread is a couple years old, but I know two co-workers that worked for them. Both were route drivers. I might be able to get some info on Linehaul if I get a chance to talk to them......

Anyone ever drive for Dunkin Donut's?

the thing is, no matter if anyone here responding to you actually works there, many of us LIVE HERE and KNOW the HIGH cost of living here.

as i said, $28 per hour (with OT is good)...however, our taxes here ARE HIGH as well...so (for me as an example), I NEVER WORK OT, as nearly HALF that earned money goes to taxes..

so (say) i earned $200 in OT, simple math, $100 goes to taxes, so i "worked for free" those x number of hours, just to pay the various local/state/federal taxes.

and it is not just the taxes, but gasoline, oil (for heating) gas (natural gas for cooking, heating) and electricity have HIGH costs here as well.

personally since i live "up here", i am used to it. but i'd personally NEVER recommend someone moving here, for a job who's pay "sounds ok for the area", but in all reality, you WILL NEED all that OT just to come to a small, VERY SMALL comfortable living wage....

    why short change yourself..???

for the beauty of the fall season and changing colors of the leaves?
