I agree, what is a "laydown coil" ????
If the coil is "laying down" it has always been eye to the sky. Upright would be the normal way of hauling them (shotgun or suicide) -
I have hauled eye to the sky coils where they set them on your lumber. Normally only had 2 or 3 stacks. I criss cross chains and add another straight over the coil from the side.
SHC Thanks this. -
That is the way the book says to do it. Don't forget the "trip" chain across the front.SHC Thanks this.

Aparently he thinks a "laydown coil" is not eye to the sky.... just wondering what he considers a laydown then.

I'm wondering, too.

I see that I'm not the only one that has "coil cuffs".
