Dunnage question

What is a coil rack?? I am new to these terms; could someone explain please.

I agree, what is a "laydown coil" ????

If the coil is "laying down" it has always been eye to the sky. Upright would be the normal way of hauling them (shotgun or suicide)

 

I have hauled eye to the sky coils where they set them on your lumber. Normally only had 2 or 3 stacks. I criss cross chains and add another straight over the coil from the side.

 

That is the way the book says to do it. Don't forget the "trip" chain across the front.

 

Aparently he thinks a "laydown coil" is not eye to the sky.... just wondering what he considers a laydown then.

 

I prefer the "coil well" method vs the coil rack! Chock up another one to lazyness! Lol

 

I'm wondering, too.

 

I see that I'm not the only one that has "coil cuffs".
