Yep, a hundred bucks a pair, but they sure save time.

Coils laying down on their side go in racks. If they are standing up on end they go on skids.
I'm right and everybody else is wrong. :smt019
My wife doesn't believe me when I say that either.
I've been hauling coils 17 years and never had any trouble at the mills saying it that way.
SHC Thanks this. -
I've got 4 of them, brand new sitting in the garage. You find all kinds of neat stuff in the back row weeds at the truckstop, especially here by all the steel mills.

Around here the terminology goes the opposite
"lay down" would be eye to the sky
"upright" would be shotgun or suicide style...eye to the sides
At least you knew what you meant LOL -
Wish I'd have just found mine, instead of buying them. I have 3 pairs.

I like the "coil cuffs". We get coiled wire rolls (slinkies) and would nail down a board to the front and back. Some prefer putting a coil rack on the front and back coils, but after trading loads a couple times I gave that up. Now, due to DOT, we were told to put a two inch strap over the two boards. This works very well for me, never did like nailing them down much depending on where the nail strips were located. Easy on and easy off.

I agree with shc, but it can be confusing depending on the coil. We haul a lot of sheet metal coils on pallets. They look like a pop can on a skid. They appear to be "standing up", but are actually laying down according to trucker speak. I have always heard coils requiring racks as being stand ups.
