Those laptops you say are thinner. AREN'T laptops. They're notepads or whatever they're being called these days. Not only do they not come with optical drives. they don't have much in the way of aux ports either. You get a slot for a memory card reader and maybe a couple of usb ports. I"m not sure on hdmi ports.

What you have is a stripped down laptop. ONly they're not called laptops. I'm guessing your screen is also smaller then standard laptop size. Which generally start at 13 inches. But are more commonly sized in the 15, 17 range and bigger.

And i'm betting that if you were kind enough to list your model number. Any one of us could do a google and show you it's called something else and not a laptop.

Laptops are still thick and they still come with DVD drives. And they're sold everywhere. Except maybe whatever store you bought yours at.

I've never had a laptop without a DVD. They are not hard to find.
You might need to spend a little more, but it is better than buying a separate TV/DVD combo just to watch movies.
And TV on the truck doesn't work that well. I have tried it. The signal is always a total mess, when you can get a signal at all. Any truck passing by hoses the signal.

A laptop with a DVD, and Netflix and/or Hulu is all you really need.

    Cheap ones dont.

Mine has a BluRay/DVD burner built in. HDMI out,. plugs into my 42" LCD TV. So when bored with Satellite TV,.. I could watch DVD/BluRay,.. but never do. Usually download illegal pirated movies to watch or Netflix, Hulu and recently added Amazon Prime Video.
