Dyed diesel question

They been doing it for years. I'm not a fan of it. But here it is.

On the fuel part, it's not so much epa concern, as much as its tax evasion.

People get real serious about that.

 

Only if it's an older unit. I wouldnt run ATF in newer common rail setups.

 

That was standard operating procedure for decades. Drain and pour in tanks and burn off. Back before recycling oil became a thing it was the only way to dispose of it without pouring it back in the ground.

 

So if you had locking fuel caps would they need a warrant to look inside?

 

No.

 

Shoot, just a thought.

 

If you bought it from a farmer or someone that can legally use dyed fuel just carry your bill of sale and dilute as much as you can. Proof of the last registered legal owner if bought through a dealer will help as well.
