We put some some of that rubber mat type material over the insulation and then carpet on top. So 3 layers total. It really cut down the noise
I did layers of rubber and underlayment to get my floor level then put the original mat over everything. That was 13 yrs ago. Eliminated the juke. Added new carpet. The problem with that is condensation between layers, and on the floor, when I pull the mat up. Hopefully by sticking it down, no chance of moisture.
Apu got new motor mounts, new oem muffler. Now going to get new a/c compressor, and a condenser fan. issue starts when the A/C kicks on. The the back of the cab where the condenser is attached rattles, so insulation needs to be added for sure. But before I do that I want to replace the compressor and fan and see if the issue is fixed. At idle when it kicks on to charge batteries I don’t mind it.
This ^^^^^ exactly what he said .. I've done 3 trucks trust me it's alot easier when your gutting the interior to begin with... I would probably never do a truck just for the noise suppression.. because it alot of work... but if your going to do it this stuff works just as good as the DyanMat and it's cheaper and alittle easier to work with
I did Killmat on floor and some on the doors of my 379, definitely makes a difference. However if you really want to see a difference you’d have to do the whole thing. If I ever redo the interior of mine I’ll do everything. I have a K9 insert in my F350 all aluminum and it was loud and I used Dynamat on that. Helped a tremendous amount. This was before I knew about the other brands. I could have saved some money. youtube some reviews on different brands. You find good and bad and I think you’ll see Dynamat is expensive and not much if at all better.
Some mat on the inside of the APU cover maybe. Amazon has all the different brands. They even have an Amazon Brand. It’s 120 mil thick and priced well,
didnt think about this. Can you expand on your answer? you mean by putting Dynamat type material between the housing and cab?
