Sounds like a fire hazard to me, you would think they would be telling their customers exactly what is going on, instead of having some think that there is no harm in continuing to use it and burning their truck to the ground, or God forbid they lose their life in it.

You've gotta think that the chances of that happening are low though because the recall includes units that are 2 years old. I'm guessing that one guy had a fire and then everyone started to panic.

Or started burning their own trucks and then saying it was the apu that caused it. Just a wild guess.

"My two cents" For the most part Iam not satisfied with my Dnasys apu. Twice the ECM and touch screen has been replaced. This past summer it would not cool in 85 plus degree weather. Some changes in the under bunk unit and location of condensor should fix it I was told. The lease is a locked in lease. If it wasn't it would be off of my truck!

I have a T2000 with a massive area to cool. I had them completely disconnect the factory blower from the sleeper ducting and the Dynasys blows through all 4 vents in the rear wall of the sleeper and also another one that they added under the bed blowing forward into the cab. I don't close off my sleeper area and just put up curtains around the windshield and side windows. I am comfortable in temperatures up into the high 90's in high humidity and I've used it in the California desert in temperatures to 106 degrees. I guess I have been one of the lucky ones as far as the controllers go as the only issue that I have had is where once in a while my unit will shut down for no apparent reason but you can start it right back up and it wont happen again for weeks. I have over 3000 hrs on mine and was told that the new controller units passed beta testing and were released for installation on 11/01/12.

Had the safety recall done on my Dynasys APU yesterday at Boomer Diesel in Oklahoma City, OK. Took 1.5 hrs and all is well now.

Mine just went on the fritz. The controller says "system inactive" and I can't get it to do anything.
Also, about every 2 weeks I gotta refill the antifreeze bottle.
    But happy with it otherwise.

    IMPORTANT DYNASYS™ TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN
    TSB – 05282013-1

To: Owner Operators, Dealers & Service Managers

Regarding: Required Update of an Engine Head Temperature Sensor

Affected Units: All Dynasys APU serial numbers from G1D13308 and lower

    Notice:

Hodyon, the makers of the DYNASYS™ APU, recently identified a set of circumstances whereby
the engine can overheat, potentially resulting in extensive engine damage.
The previous APU design had limited redundancy in place to protect against engine overtemp
situations. The addition of an engine block temperature switch should protect the engine in cases of
extreme overheat. When the block reaches a designated temperature threshold, the switch will cut
fuel to the engine and force the engine to shut down.

    Resolution:
The addition of an over temperature switch jumper is designed to provide adequate system
redundancy to protect the engine against overtemp events. The over temperature switch will open
when the temperature sees 123C+/-3C. The switch jumper will be connected in between the main
    APU harness and fuel solenoid.
Please refer to the TSB instructions for additional repair/update information.

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION

    Mandatory Time Frame:
Failure to comply with this important engine update may constitute poor maintenance of the
product. It is important to adhere to this engine update in order to prevent loss to the APU
system and to reduce potential loss of warranty coverage that could result in cases of poor or
    improper maintenance.
Please note you will have 90 days from the time of the notice to update and install the new
“Engine Head Temperature Sensor” through a preferred dealer of your choice.
Should you require support in getting this TSB update completed please contact your preferred
dealer or our customer service team at #1-800-289-8282 for support.
Thank you for your continued partnership.

Had the new controller shipped to me and installed it yesterday.
It looks a lot better than past versions. (fingers crossed)
