They gave me a load at IGT one of the companies they have a contact with in Reno and in Las Vegas they make the casino machines that go out to the casinos, and they take machines back that are defective or need to be switched out for updated ones. These loads are the $$$ loads because they are usually very light weight and they aren't short haul either. You are usually going to go 2500-3500 with these loads. The load that they are giving me is a 3 stop load 2 in Cincinnati and the last in Flintstone, MD. They also are paying me $300 for sitting over the weekend and they are paying me back for the chains that I had brought for the trailer. So this settlement will be $4100 gross.

 

So how do they work it with the seals? Just put on a new seal after each delivery?

 

The shipper provide heavy duty cable seals for each drop. The casino authorities cut off the seals.

 

I worked for one of E&H competitors they also had a contract with IGT, loved loading in Reno, took a while but they let you use their awesome cafeteria that is like a gourmet restaurant. Those loads payed me big money,I like pad wrap except for having to shuffle the equipment all the time,there was one store fixtures manufacturer around Columbus,OH that would make you strip your whole trailer of equipment before they would load it,miss doing this kind of work but I screwed my back up and can't do the equipment anymore.

 

It's basically still the same and that cafeteria is nice. The only downside is the load times at IGT but 90% of loads coming out of there for E&H are drop and hook but you often still have to wait because most of the time they are still loading the trailer when you get there.

 

I delivered the first stop of this casino load this morning. The worst issue of these loads is finding where the unload site is. The best way is to usually call the casino main number and ask for shipping and receiving and if they aren't open security. Security are also the ones to ask if you are allowed to park overnight and where. Some of the casinos have RV parking and if they do they usually will allow you to park there the night before to post which is cool because you get to check out the Casino. I looked up my stops on the satellite view and I can tell their parking wasn't truck friendly so I stayed at the truck stop which was about 25 miles away. Most of the time they have you unload at the dock but if the dock isn't available they might just have to unload you right in front of the casino entrance. These loads are handled as if you are picking up cash ( in a sense you are) so only the gambling officials are allowed to break the seal. Which can cause a slight delay sometimes but not usually. While they are unloading I utilize that time to fold up some of those blankets. But if you only delivering like 2-5 casino gaming machines you won't be there that long.

 

The casinos in Deadwood,SD are hard to get in and out of they are on Main Street downtown and you unload in the street

 

I finished all three loads now I'm at the Loves truck stop near Cumberland, MD waiting for another load.
