#15. When picking up at a dealership, always get a serial #, even if the salesman or dispatcher says; "Pick up the 420D with the 2' bucket at the so n so store, Its the only one in the yard" (except for the one in the shop)
FerrissWheel, rank, passingthru69 and 4 others Thank this. -
#16 - Make sure your trailer is level when loading/unloading. It is amazing how much equipment can walk to the side when not level, especially heavy and wide rubber tire equipment like scrapers, loaders, and articulated haul trucks.
FerrissWheel, LoneCowboy, Iron Mover and 3 others Thank this. -
Not to mention the rollers jumping off the ramps when you attempt to pick the trailer up againFerrissWheel, Oxbow, rank and 1 other person Thank this.

#17 when on a 2 lane, yield to the bigger load. Helps the big guys out tremendously by block all traffic behind you.
#18 Keep your "ears" on. There are lots of trucks that will be courteous to you because you're OSOW, and tell you things that you need to know...especially flatbed drivers. This is especially the case on the two lane.LoneCowboy, kylefitzy, FerrissWheel and 4 others Thank this. -
In line with the add 10% to the given weight...
Take your own measurements...regardless of the manufactures specs or sites like Ritchie's. It's your load, your responsibility.FerrissWheel, Oxbow, RGN and 1 other person Thank this. -
LOL yep. Picked up a grader one day. Was supposed to be something like 9'8" and it turned out to be 10'4". It was the difference in running in the dark and having to stay put.FerrissWheel Thanks this.
