With sleepers we can log sleeper birth during unloading or loading, which is pretty much off duty. I’ve talked to local guys at the same company in day cabs, and they have to stay on duty even if they’re just swinging the doors open and sitting.

Dot has no legal right to look at your “computer”. You have to make available at request your log either on paper or by fax/email (electronically). I have a printer and print my log off at the end of each day. Put in a binder. I get stopped, that’s what mr dot gets. Perfectly legal.
