The gubbermint morons also assume that every time we lay a pen to paper in a logbook that we're lying too. They can't conceive of anyone actually running legally and compliant.

Unlike you I wasn't born knowing everything.

unfortunately the many get punished for the few. If you listen to people rant about E-logs it sounds and I truly mean it sounds like they are all running 2 or 3 books. Now I know that's not true , but perception is truth to a lot of people

In the new U.S.S.A. they do....But in the old United States people were dealt with on an individual basis and not collectively screwed for the actions of their neighbors.
I keep hearing about people running 2 or 3 logbooks. Back in the old days I would occasionally run 2 (Even that was pretty rare) but the whole 3 logbook thing is a bit of a mystery to me...It sounds like the kind of bullsh_t that's crammed down the throats of students and trainees by the companies that want to paint everyone that's been out here for a while to be a bunch of "criminals" in the eyes of the target audience.
Only to fools that don't care or aren't bright enough to look deeper. -
It all depends on the company you keep. Some are worse than others, most aren't knowingly violating, they truly don't know any better.

Doesn't make sense to me . It doesn't say 168 hours have to pass between restarts .
FMCSA revises the hours of service (HOS) regulations to limit the use of the 34-hour restart provision to once every 168 hours .
168 hours is a week .
Say you have 4 weeks and can have 1 day off each week . You take Wednesday off one week then Monday the next . A week hasn't passed from Wednesday to Monday but you are still only taking one day a week off .

They're trying to mold trucking into their concept of a work-a-day-week. You know... 8 to 5 (not quite there yet,) everyone goes home on Friday in their preset little structured world, and comes back to work on Monday. That little reset oughta fit in just fine in "their" small little miserable canned life.
-
I have personally seen 3 logbooks in use at 1 time. I couldn't do it I would screw them up too bad. But it was in oilfield work not OTR.
-
The guy must'a been pretty stupid....Because you could work continuously for as long as you wanted to with 2.
-
Funny...I was thinking the exact same thing. Some people seem to be more comfortable lying.
