Since 2006 I have been using Drivers Daily Log. And for years I would walk in, say I'm doing my logs on the computer, do you want me to print out today or can you just check on the computer? Then spent the next 15-minutes talking about how cool the software is and they just glanced at my logs.

Now, they go over them and the guy on elogs walks in and ask for the fax number to have his logs sent and they say "don't worry, let's just check your other paperwork.":biggrin_25510:

I'm no longer the cool kid in the chicken coop.

And I bet the reason they are hiring and training is that they have had some turn over since the announced going to elogs. Much easier to find a flatbed company not using them.

I'm really nervous since its such a HUGE change from vans, but oh well. I gotta at least try it, so that i can be that old trucker draggin a reefer that says "i'll never pull a flatbed again!" :biggrin_2559:

As a rule I don't do 8' drops anymore unless the load pays better than $3/m to me......

I have had too many shippers require 8's when 6' will do or.....They require 8's and they expect you to get them on top of an 8' load sans forklift and tarping station.....No Effing way.....

Not worth your back getting screwed up or you falling off a load just to make the shipper happy....

No If i were a rep the last place i would be on is a truckers forum, i would be at home

Im a driver just like you Injun,I was pointing out to the young lad that if ELOGS were a problem with his decision well he might want to see his future if he stayed at Watkins & Shepperd(clik the link) their scores are deplorable, I drive for Conway Truckload(this has never been a secret btw),and it was scores(actually better than them) that got us on ELOGS,see we(CFI) dropped our standards(From at least 2 years of spotless driving/or our school) and started to hire any scrub off the streets of Phoenix,Greenbay,Omaha,Ceder Rapids,Springfield,etc...with 3 months of driving ,then see we drivers over here get $1000.00 per person we get to sign on so after we dropped our standards it was quite easy to supplement your income(I myself have garnered $22,000 in the past 4 years),

Take your fine company for example, the first 2 years of our Incentive program the winner of the recruiting contest managed to recruit 46 drivers in one year(thats $46,000) PLUS he won the recruiting contest(an extra $25,000 tax free paid by Conway),,when asked how he did it??? Simple all i have to say is,,THANK YOU SWIFT!!! for making me rich,,(he posted a craigslist add in Phoenix) it was like shooting fish in a barrel

But back to the Op's Thread,,see by doing this and thus lowering our standards oh we filled seats and keep them filled and now are on ELOGS

I myself wanted to be the absolute last driver on them(as i was NOT really informed)actually our O/O's were the last ones on,they had to make the choice by June 4th of this year, which all did,and we have put on EVEN more O/O's since then:biggrin_25524: and at first skeptical to say the least, its been a year almost,,nothing really has changed SOS just another day,but im more at ease driving now,not a care about a "Book" to worry about,I get a load I do the load nothing has changed

Trust Me??? well seeing that i actually dont know you that is understandable,I value your opinion when it comes to your posts and I give it a read and form my own opinion on it(hopefully i stay respectful) I try not to make it personal,,,But rest assured I dont sugar-coat anything nor make it up as i go

Like i posted on another ELOG thread,,Will ELOGS make the industry safer,No just compliant with the rules we are all suppose to follow

CSA2010(again in my Opinion) will make the industry safer as it will eventually take the scrubs off the road,,,

from what i've seen from the outside, these drivers on e-logs are the ones now blowing my doors off in 55mph construction zones and such, just so i can blow there doors off again when the limit goes back to 65-80mph :biggrin_2559:.

Same with in the truck stop, once they push in the little yellow button thats like the green flag dropping and aint no one gonna slow them down :biggrin_25513: I see e-logs makeing drivers more reckless. Thats why they need to speed up their trucks so drivers can make it up out west on the big roads.

Careful driver....... it pushes your 70 not your 14. The elog remembers what time you loged in and the 14 starts from there unless you kill it with a 10. ( split 8/2 other if carrier allows it)

Wrong. It stops your 11hr clock and your 70hr clock but not your 14hr clock.
