depending upon your settings with people net it will switch you to line 4 automatically after 3 minutes. you'll just need to remember to switch yourself to the sleeper or off duty when you aren't performing work.
-
What about when you're driving or stuck in traffic, does it move you to 4 sometimes?
-
A lesson learned my first week on them. Always move yourself off the drive line as soon as you stop somewhere

Our system will move to line 4 when you set the parking bake, I have a terrible habit of pulling trailer brakes only
It does not care of your there for an hour bsing about racing

Yep from time to time in traffic, at a really slow light it may also change. Either way it's killing your 70 so makes no difference to me if it's its 3 or 4.

This is that "gray area" on Elogs. If I am sitting in traffic at a dead stop waiting for something to clear up, like an accident, I don't wait for the Elog to switch to line 4. I just go to line 1. I know, I know.... for those that are anal about it, that is not allowed. So go narc on me. Matter of fact, the only automatic switching I allow the Elog to do is switching to line 3. Otherwise, when I stop, I am on top of it and make a switch to another line myself. I don't waste a lot of goofy time on line 4. When I arrive at a customer I go to line 4. I check in, back to a dock or drop and hook, and then go line 1. There is no requirement to log every minute at a customer as line 4. If I am not doing anything related to the load, am smoking and joking with other drivers, am on my laptop check emails or whatever, I am not going to show line 4 even though the truck is at the dock. They are taking full responsibility for the load at that point. Many times, because many or the customers I go to allow it, I take full breaks at their location. I will get in the night before, take the break, and then do what I have to in the morning. I really watch the line 4 stuff and don't waste any more time on it than I have to. Of course, pre and post trips get time on line 4 as does fueling. You have to use a little of that gray matter between your ears once in a while.
Of course, you can let the Elog do all the thinking for you. Your call.Jakaby Thanks this. -
