The deal is, if the potential employer tells you, that we'll send you a Greyhound bus ticket, that will take you 2 days to get here, and they tell your neighbor, we're sending you a plane ticket, be here in a couple of hours, would you not be wondering why the difference?

What is really quite strange about this whole thing is that a lady, of all people, would think of female drivers as 3rd. class citizens.

It is not and never has been the responsibility of the employer to get either the employee or potential employee to work or orientation. It is solely the employee's or potential employee's responsibility to make it to work or orientation.

This would sound strange, if not outright fishy!

NO the deal is if you are looking for a job have a way to get to work. Get a job offer at Walmart and tell them you need a ride to work, see what they say after they stop laughing

Live in Pennsylvania, and hire on with TMC in Iowa, supposed to find your own way there?

Two posts deleted. No more troll accusations please.

If that's what you suspect, please refrain from replying and thus bumping the thread. Thank you.

Any of these tools arguing that it's a drivers responsibility to get to work should be ignored.

If a company wants to recruit from out of state or across the country they pay for the driver to get there. It's been that way for at least 25 years.

The point of this thread is if they offer to fly one person then they should fly the next. She is right, anyone that argues that point is yet another tool.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't nationwide fleets have drivers from all over the country, as opposed to within a couple hours drive from the headquarters?

    I'm inclined to agree.

What we need to know is what manner of outfit does this sort of thing. Furthermore, if documentable evidence is available of this sort of chicanery, then a discrimination complaint needs to be filed.
