I won't say the idea of OM's getting kick backs is impossible, but I've never heard anyone talk about it (and it's an office, so if it were happening, it would get out, "Three can keep a secret if two are dead"). That said, it seems like this is something that can get solved pretty easily by getting a rate con from the broker. The only way to get around that would be for the broker to be cutting a separate check to an OM, and let's be honest, that's going to be too much work for basically anyone.

See, this is why I always question what peoples' expectations are. Average rates for freight are pretty much public knowledge, and so is the business model for Eagle. Given that, I don't get why people come in with such varied expectations.

Rates for customer freight will only go so high. For example, we have a customer load that gets run almost daily from Seymour, IN to West Seneca NY. It pays $3.05/mi. That rate is held in check by the market forces that basically dictate that the customer could, if Eagle decided to try and charge $4/mi, get that load covered for whatever the going rate is for the lane.

The only way you can expect to come to Eagle, make full trailer and truck payments on new equipment, and take home $80k+ per year is if you think Eagle has access to rates that are almost 50% higher than the national average. I can't imagine anyone would think that.

That's ridiculous if u think that's my or most people's expectations....lol.....but there U go again quoting one small load as representative of Eagles entire freight base.....?the customer freight base is freakishly small and only concentrated in one area indiana and I guess somewhat the Midwest.....with a few outliers that I haven't actually seen in awhile posting loads....All I want is fair and or average I know what the loads im asking to get called on Should go for and I expect at least something close to it for that lane and it's not even close to 3 a mile ....what happens is i or ops calls and get a very very discounted rate often...sometimes we get a good rate and say yes thank u....that's not the norm.....and good god leave it to ops to find freight without my input im lucky to make fuel and drivers wages ....so what happens there?

You're putting words in my mouth. I didn't say that that lane was good, or somehow representative of all the freight Eagle has (loads going into the NE will always pay more, but that's not the point). I was using that as a way to talk about what keeps freight pay roughly in line.

What are you expectations Fr8? If $80k/yr is ridiculous, then throw a number out so we can take a look at what is/can be reasonable.

See it's when u start talking like this that I start to get really irritated with u! U know why? Becoz I know that's what u are hearing in the office...it's the drivers fault, expectations ,sense of himself his mistakes.....and I know u hate me pointing out your experience level, but I will u til u get it!.....but most people in particular drivers this thread have years and years of experience......most in that office except a few key people do not! And that is what I n my opinion making and being a huge reason those drivers that u say have such high expectations, aren't makimg it and leaving this golden coated turd.....bs,it's u have such a low experience level in driver support, customer service, logistics, payroll compliance,safety......and it could go on...only area this company seems to exceed even the lowest expectations Is recruiting and advertising! And that is a huge problem coz it also contributes to the revolving door...?GET SO MANY PEOPLE IN AND NOT TRULY EXPLAIN or support them or explain Eagles model, what's expected...what ops is supposed to do....what support u can expect and whT. Actually happens is hugely different thing here...u keep drinking that office koolaid your fed in your little protected cocooned office bubble.....while the guys that pay your salary and quit, frustrated, broke and angry .....keep slaving away partly based on a believe things will get better!BECAUSE THE POTENTIAL OF THIS COMPANY IS VAST INDEED but in actual practice it's just short of a con job ........SO LETS SEE THOSE rates ......all u say is it's clear U see what the failures dO clearly from the winners....It's so simply...so easy...spill it! Also I will challenge U right now.....

My name is steven parra my eagle truck number is 879774 I have 6.5 years driving experience including 2 years as a company driver and 4 years doing and completing a 4 year lease with a major company! I ain't afraid of anything really, including failure! I have my reasons for being here this long.im not a job hopper nor a flake! Im a good driver maybe even a very good driver...and a decent business man that owned and operated a extremely tough and litigious and liability focused franchise company....I know my sxxt compared to a lot of guys...but im still considered a newbie in this field...and I'm fine with that.....stop blaming drivers....u need those drivers and they would perform at a higher level if given the support for there 25% and I have no doubt about that.....
