That's exactly the way it seems...nothing left to give the guy paying for the truck, insurance and the fuel and having to comply with all the elogs, csa, state federal,local.....blah,blah,blah sucking the fat off the rate for sure....one guy had a load 45 k from deep in the backwoods and hills of Pennsylvania (deliverance music playing now?) 3075.00 for 1950 miles to Logan ut after Eagles cut and 150 miles of dh it's 2100 miles at 1.10......so I countered with 3500, he said 3,100 max...so I took my ball and went home....am I crazy for turning it down? I don't know coz it would have paid down some stuff but I couldn't help but thing I was just contributing to the problem if I took it for 1.10!! Of course somebody else grabbed it shortly thereafterLoke Thanks this.
-
1.10??? Thats terrible! I can get 2.10 going to Colorado, once you get out that way its cheap getting out! Its supposed to be good going in though, but 1.10 is not close to good, you did the right thing by not taking that!

Did a broker from Scranton to Ogden on Easter weekend ... average spot rate for the lane is $3600 to $3700 ... I got $2600 ... about 70%.
Since you're negotiating the total rate and getting your cut off of that, your $3500 was probably a little low.fr8monkey Thanks this. -
What is the percentage that Eagle takes off of every load you do?
-
Straight from the website and everyone here, 25% for on time loads. 35% if you're late.
-
Only two loads so far. Neither broker was on the list, but both brokerages were on the list. Out of the two loads so far I've turned down 10. Second load isn't great, NJ to Ohio, but it puts $500 in my pocket after fuel and gets me out of the northeast. First load put $1,100 in my pocket after fuel. The brokerages we work with know who we are. Especially CHRobison. Who knows what they may have going on with Eagle behind the scenes. I'm just getting started but I'm standing firm, if I can't find what I need then I'm waiting till I do. Some won't budge, so I hang up and find one that will, or has a decent rate. Also, we're leasing from Quality not Eagle. The main draw here was to able to book our own freight. If it turns out that was just a bait and switch tactic, it won't be hard to just wait the 90 days.fr8monkey Thanks this.
-
Doesn't matter coz he wouldn't budge anyways.....I was simply seeing if there was any give and there wasn't at all...
-
Believe me swift is alright and maybe that's what I miss is the fact that it is so well structured u won't get rich there and lots won't even survive by there own doings....but it's a good company and lease program despite what many would say....I been there and if not the fate of the gods.....would have gone back....

Just seen a quality companies new t680 leased on to mercer.... So there is an option.
fr8monkey Thanks this.
