The only advantage I see in owning a truck that u buy out from a lease is you know every mile she did and hopefully u took care of her.....coz that will save u Money in the long run weather leasing or owning your own truck....it's a five year old truck with 600,000 miles on it....wtf would I still want it? I don't! I expect to get a new truck and with the increased knowledge and earning power that I will have from leasing and brokering freight, the truck is merely a tool,I'll leverage what I have gained from learning this side of the business...nothing more....that and a good clean record![]()

That's what I am doing, I'll take good care of her while I have her, but I am not going buy the thing. Pay off some bills, build up my credit, save for dwn payment, then buy a used tractor, used reefer, and work with a few direct shippers.fr8monkey Thanks this.

My DM just told me that a bunch of new reefers are coming in next month or so. Doing a 34 in Vegas, most of the van loads go fast, one load picks up friday in Vegas but does not drop until the 30th, we are trying to get me to TX, there are 110 loads coming out of there today for JB Hunt.

Set up with CHRW load alerts, and downloaded their app., and as soon as my registration is official then I can use the app. and get email alerts for loads that run along my lanes.
I should move down to the Wild Wild West truck stop at the same casino, not far from the strip, only thing lot's of girls work that truck stop at night, if I go down to E. Flamingo where my buddy lives and park where he used to park his truck, same thing, I'll bothered by girls, -
So I'm staying at the Petro, not exciting but it will keep me out of trouble

Well I think I have a load out of N. Las Vegas going to Houston TX, just emailed my account rep. at CH to get the details, if I get it, I'll have to wait a couple of days, but no dead head to pick up load as I am already in N. Las Vegas NV. My DM and I, were looking at me doing at least 250 into southern Cali for a load, this one will make things a lot easier.

Well I got my Vegas to Houston load, picks up on the 14th, and the best part is not much dead head as I am already in the area, another sunny, warm day out here.
-
What's the rate on that?
-
$2050, my cut is $1.43 a mile for 1421 miles, and you are right, they don't negotiate much on these loads, I think I would have to be in the, having my own authority, truck and trailer realm, and working with direct shippers. But this is ok, get's me to a state with lots of dry van freight.Loke Thanks this.
