Well I do it differently then others do.....eagle gets me a lot of over 2 and even 3 a milie rates.....I simply break mine down further by accounting for ALL THE DH AND OOR MILES....into what I actually get to the truck before fuel.....it's different then others do but I think it more fully accounts for what I'm actually pulling the load in total for....and yes my rates have been from 1.05 to at most over 1.50 and me and the boy wonder dm are on the same page coz before he would do simple math to account for the rate and call it good,lol....oh boy! So now I tell him minimum 2 a mile unless long and light then 1.75 and what do u know...my take home has increased a lot...and now he feels very proud of himself! It's definately a work in progress....but I see the potential,it's only been 6 weeks three have been good three weeks not so good....

Good fr8monkey, i think with any company, specially a LP it takes time to get into the swing of things, so are you waiting for a reefer or are you stickin with the dry box? I have been trying to stay out of the northeast....just because i hate it(who doesn't) but im also still learning what areas are going to still give me the revenue i want, and also areas i like running, this week i ran FL, AL, TN, OH, and back to TN, and i avaeraged over 1.70 all trips, i did more running then i would in the northeast, but its fun to learn the system.

Well a quick look at truckers edge says rates between Chicago and Seattle are 1.85 and Seattle to Chicago are 1.36 a mile....reefer was about .60 more from Seattle

But it that's b4 eagles 25% I would have to run reefer. Still would be about 5500 or so to me. 1200 to eagle and 2200 fuel still makes good. I have no problem driving 700 a day if I'm driving 75. and that 2200 figures getting about 5.5 at 75mph

Actually it's a $1.60, then add in empty miles and watch it drop some more.

Well here I am in El Paso TX at the Petro, very strong winds along I-10 today and this load, which puts me just shy of 80k, is killing me both on the hills, and the pocket book. My 350 cumalong in this Lone Star went from 7.3 to 5.5 with the hills and the side winds, which the heavy load kept me right down the middle of the lane while others were all over the place.

Found another load out of Houston going to my hometown, will have to wait until tomorrow or Monday to get the pay on it, and if they can change the appt. P/U time on it, as it p/u when I drop the load I'm on now.

Education is expensive in America, and trucking is no different, and I got an education with this load, will try to stay Midwest and Southeast with this van, and when I get my reefer, then hit my Cali lanes.
