Yes you can, but you can only use the brokers that are approved by Eagle, a lot of loads pay ok, and a lot don't. If you let your DM dispatch you totally, you will make money.

Right now I am pulling a dry van, but I signed up for reefer, they don't know when they will get more reefers, so I have pull dry, dry pays well if you work with a direct shipper, and don't mind running the North East, but we don't deal with direct shippers at all.

It averages between $1000 and $1200, but since I started learning how to book my own freight, instead of getting paid, I'm paying in for that education.

 

I am learning how to use Truckers Edge, it pretty much runs the same way as the CH Robinson board, but it gives you the market rate for the lane you are using, and it seems that the loads from CH pay better on T/E than on their own board. Many of the brokers on T/E we can't use, but there are a few Eagle approved ones on there.
