When I was in kindergarten and first grade, my Mother took me to Easter egg hunts at the schools my sister and I attended. That was when we lived in Charleston, SC.
The parents would bring bags of boiled eggs that were decorated for Easter. I took some eggs that weren't boiled and drew pictures on them using crayons. Sneaked the eggs into the bag of boiled eggs my Mother had prepared. The other students that found the raw eggs made a mess on their clothes and were whining and crying. My Mother was really PO'd when she figured out that I did that. I got a good lecture when we returned home, but didn't get a spanking.

there are even now those "plastic eggs" with beepers inside them for the sight impaired kids...which is a great idea

it's safer (i think) than real eggs, i wouldn't want some kid eating an egg that was maybe cracked and dirt or bugs got inside, or not cooked well, and presents maybe a germ like salmalina (sp??)

at least this year too, the weather was better.
