Eastern Freightways North Brunswick NJ (Better Than Average)

i have been reading some old post in the bad trucking forum about eastern
and i must say i don't like what i'm hearing. and i'm going there in less than 5 days. the mills are really slow the trucks are small and ######. people doing all kinds of cut backs to stay alive on their trucks, eating peanut butter for breakfast, lunch and diner. dam what am i getting in to, i like small companies
but this sounds like some bull man. can some one offer me some advice here.

 

i need to hear from some solo driver at eastern about the mile your getting right now. please tell me whats going on

 

ok guys ill really let you know how it is at eastern by next week,
i'm going in on monday
and il take some photo of the trucks and the office and post them on here, so if it is as good as jlkk says you'll know. and as the weeks go by ill post up dates on my loads my pay and what ever else you need to know to make up your minds about the company.
thats if i make it pass orientations. lol

OK it's Monday and the blog begins
It Monday 1:02 pm eastern time here in New Brunswick,NJ
at the Holiday Inn.
I left home at 9:30 am to catch the train to Manhattan,NY then the northeast corridor to New Brunswick, running me a total of 3 hours to make it here at the motel.
As I arrive my first question was food and where do I get it is there's a restaurant in walking distance? no but there is take out and a gas station a block for here and a Dunkin Donuts. what's nice here is that eastern offers you 2 $15.00 a day meals, lunch and dinner.
I should be watching tv but instead I'm here telling you all of my adventure as I await my roomy, with most trucking companies you do share a room during orientations as some of you would know. I'm off now, until tomorrow

It's Tuesday morning.
It's 6am and I'm drowsy got very little sleep, my room mate showed up, very nice guy just one problem he smokes.
we are in a none smoking room but he has it bad he needs to smoke.
I wont go in to details but you get the picture.
now I don't smoke and I suffer from asthma, so I had hell trying to sleep in the room that smells like pure ash.
Well I don't want to make waves so ill just relax and play it as it goes for the next 2 day if it gets worse then Ill have to take action.
So now I site here having my free breakfast compliments of Holiday Inn. Ill keep you updated as the day goes on.
