Interesting issue I came across today. I was having a conversation with a dock worker and her supervisor, about "Eating While Driving", especially if a driver is hungry and doesn't have time or place to stop. The two were saying that it is illegal to eat while driving any vehicle in general. I've told them there is no such law but they kept arguing that it is illegal and reckless. I agreed on being considered reckless, which strongly depends on the actual situation, but speaking of "illegal", as in actual law against this, there is none! Looking on some feed back on this.
Eating While Driving Illegal!!!

It’s considered as “distracted driving” and could get you a ticket..

Technically u could say the same about putting on makeup and driving. They all fall under the distracted driving law. Do wat u gotta do . i snack all day while i drive. I like to snack rather than eat huge meals . i guess its illegal but just be carefull

I got pulled over in Colorado by a state trooper and given a written warning for eating an apple while driving. Turns out it IS illegal to eat while driving a commercial motor vehicle.

It pretty much falls into wether somthing is in your hand and would obstruct emergency manuvers. Like an apple, if u we're to set it down after each bite officer prob wouldn't have said anything

I've looked for an actual law prohibiting eating while operating a CMV, but there is none! Neither on FMCSA, DOT, State DMVs, nor any federal US agency, website has a law against eating while driving. There is only suggestions and tips that it is considered obstructive and/or reckless, but NO LAW!!! So in other words it is legal, just not to be done in a way that is reckless!?

I've seen people sneeze so hard, their whole body jolts uncontrollably..., I mean, what then.., is that considered reckless or illegal, if a coper happens to be passing by and sees you rocking back and forth with your eyes closed while sneezing...
