When I'm on service ranger looking under "shift point calibration" I see a bunch of options.... Mine was stock with a "2000 rpm fleet" calibration.
I've tried the 1800 and 1900 fleet just for fun but the problem is I dont know what any of the other calibrations do, I cannot find anything that explains the differences in the Cal's...
What I'm looking for is one that might skip shift the lower gears. I've got 4:11 rear end ratio and my transmission shifts every bloody gear! 18 speed rtlo20918asf. That is a insane amount of shifting for no reason, I miss turn signal lights often cause my truck accelerates so slow from shifting so much from a dead stop.
Does anyone know which one would skip shift lower gears or am I s.o.l?

Great question. I have never been able to find that information either. Very illusive for sure. They should all skip gears if you are accelerating fast enough with the engine using low torque. For sure do not use any heavy haul calibrations.

Oh crap, eaton recommended the 2000rpm heavy haul and I just installed it! Haha. They said only the 2000 does this...... it revs to 2000 in the first few years then once it leaves the basement it drops to a 1750rpm shift point, he said for me with my low gears, small rubber and 120k weight that this should be what I'm looking for..... figures itll skip shift for me..........
Guess we will find out -
Can you post your current settings and or a SAR from service ranger?

Try the acert tune. One of the best shifting ones they have. If you have a single turbo it may shift too low of rpm and fall below the turbo. Should skip shift good too.

This truck is a Cummins ISX 871.

Dont matter. Give it a try for a couple runs. Only issue is it might shift too low of rpm. We have a couple customers with it on a deleted isx

You might also consider changing your default start gear to 3rd and maximum start gear to 6th. This will give a better feel when empty on takeoff. This will expand your ability to select a higher gear on takeoff as well. And if your super heavy you can still go lower if needed. Think about what gear you would take off in if it were a manual?

I use the 2000rpm heavy haul calibration in all single turbo cats I work on.
I find driving from 1300-1550rpm with our gross weights generates too much heat with high pyros from lugging falling below the turbo. with the BW 0000 650hp non wastegated turbos its even worse again.
I find the 2000rpm heavy hall drives them from 1500-1800rpm.
im by no means an experienced truck driver but I advise my C15 powered clients to drive in that range. the ones that do rarely do turbos or manifolds. I personally split down 1/2 gear in 20/22 series 18 speeds with anything from 4.11-4.56 diffs at 1550rpm on an uphill pull. it grabs the gear and youre back on the party peddle at 1750-1800rpm in the sweet spot of the single turbo.
I even use it in the ACERTs. not the most ideal but in my opinion its the best option in there
