If there are no codes and it just flashes the gear icon, it usually means it's waiting for the input shaft speed to slow down enough before it engages a gear, which tends to mean there is some mechanical issue with the clutch or inertia brake (if equipped).

I’ve got a ‘20 T680 that’ll randomly go into neutral at stop signs and lights. Tells me the trans needs serviced. I hit the 4-ways, turn off the ignition, and hope it’s cleared when I restart the truck. So far, I’ve gotten lucky and it works. And, other motorists haven’t shot me, yet. The good times of electronic transmissions. :D

DM clutch. Likely dragging with a broken spring and the inertia brake cannot overcome the drag. I agree, most likely clutch.

As long as you’ve done all that, pull the flooring back where the shift tower would have been, check if the floor has a ‘knock out’. If so, go to a scrap yard and get a complete shift tower, and all the linkage for a conventional clutch pedal that fits your transmission, and your model/year, then unbolt all that auto-shift bull crap that sits on top of the tranny, knock that plate out of the floor, reinstall a shift tower. And be on your way, never to be bothered by the ‘flashing kiss of death’ from a bull crap auto shift transmission again.
