What are the real differences between these transmissions? Having operated both, in my opinion the Meritor felt alot nice shifting, it popped into gear much easier. The shifter felt lighter.

Is there an option between a long throw and short throw shifter? For example, on lets say a 2003 Freightliner it has a curve in the stick and shifts nice. A 2006 for example has a straight stick and the travel the shifter goes to the gates to shift is very close.

I wanna pay your attention on Freightliner transmission. It is based on Mercedes EPS transmission and IMO is good.
