An eBay spokeswoman said the posts were most likely the result of account takeovers and not of a security breach on eBay. She also said the credit card numbers contained in the posts were not those eBay or PayPal had on file for those users. eBay representatives have begun contacting all users whose information was posted to head off any further fraud and to learn more about the attack.

o that was Fun THANK YOU so much for posting this topic here, i just got off the phone with the fraud department with US Bank the hold time was 20 minutes... they already knew i was calling about ebay.... so now my checking acct is frozen i gotta stop my direct deposit and put it back on my transfunds card.... geez fun fun... at least i caught it before something happened and its thanks to this forum...
