Anybody familiar with Volvo Eco Tourque? Pacar has something similar as well. There are two versions. One lowers the tourque in the top gears for fuel economy. The range is 1450 to 1750. I'm old school, having started way before computer engines so I would imagine it gets annoying. The other lowers your torque in the lower gears for progressive shifting and the computer adjusts the torque in the top two years depending on demand.
I would love to hear if anybody out there has experience with it. Mainly how noticeable it is, especially crossing mountains.

I think this is more of a fleet truck thing. I had all eco torque parameters disabled in my ecm. 2050 torque when i want, regardless of which gear. I found eco torque to be a hindrance where I run (bc interior and kootenays)

If I had a fleet of these things I can't say I'd have it set up the same though.

What I was thinking. I run coast to coast so I'm always crossing mountains, especially through Colorado and Utah on I-70. 2050 seems like a lot of torque. My highest option was 1750. Right now my D13 is rated at 425. I'm having an early in-frame done (770K) due to the head needing replaced because of pitting around the cups causing exhaust in the coolant. Needed a new engine harness and turbocharger so I said screw it just do an inframe for another 9 grand. I also wanted to up the HP to 475 which they said they can do with a software update to the ECM. That's when they asked me if I wanted ECO torque or straight torque.

The series 60 always did this I believe unless you tuned it.

Go with the straight torque you will be happier. Your motor gan also go to a 500 but 475 should be just fine. I have the D16 with 2050 torque love it

Called the dealership and told them straight torque. Service manager even said that ECO-torque can be annoying if you're not used to it.

Mine had dual torque, think it’s the cheap version of the ego tourque, I hated it, was a dog in the low end and really didn’t come to life until last 2 gears, I paid the $500 bucks to the stealership to uprate it to 475 and get rid of the dual tourque.. made a world of difference, we’ll worth the $$..

I just upgraded from 425 to 475 on a fresh inframe. Cost me about $400 on top of the $27,000. They asked which ECO torque packages I wanted. Once I found out what that was I told them neither.
