I mean 40 percent seems like a big number but I really can't say. I wonder what they say the average wait time to load and unload is. To me that's the only thing that is most unavoidable. If I can, I'll wait out rush hour traffic.

It’s not so much the actual shippers and receivers as the other idiot drivers that cut each other off park in front of doors stupid things like that. I definitely understand there are going to be delays on the logistics end. That just means I get a good nap. I’m new to bumping docks. I’ve been a driver in one form or another since ‘88 and this is the first time in my career I’ve had to bump docks and it is most definitely a different world but I can’t really see myself doing anything else…idiots or not. Unless I hit the lottery and get one of these…

Me too! I’d be a regular fixture on the Outer Banks.

I met 3 millionaires in one weekend at the Petro in Atlanta. This was in 09. The bottom of the recession. No freight, everyone stuck for the weekend. Lots of Drivers asking if I was getting any miles. Yet all 3 claimed to be out here,(as they say) for the fun of it. Not a one could afford a shower. They must have been Eccentrics. Lol.

Well, TRUTHFULLY, this is a lie...

You can indeed DRIVE (legally) 14 hours a day. Start at midnight for example. Stop at 8am (8 hours driving so far). Take a 10 hour break. Go back to driving at 6pm and drive until midnight (6 more hours) = 14 hours in a day...

And anyone that says "you will do this or that" without knowing what company you are working for, and what job you are doing is talking out of their ###...

I have been driving since 1984 with a CDL (farm trucks since 1965, and army trucks since 1975). I have worked for a lot of companies doing a lot of things. OTR refer, OTR dry van, LTL city, LTL linehaul, CDL instructor. dedicated mail run. city mail run (back and forth from Minneapolis main PO to and from the airport 5 times a night), and owner operator.

There isnt just 1 set of driving rules for drivers. It all depends...
