We get 22 pallets on a 48 footer when they're loaded straight. I deliver groceries, maybe I'm not accounting for the product "overlap?

I can get 24 pallets in a 53 when they are all put in straight. To get 26, you would need to turn 2 on each side.
-
That of course depends on the density of the freight.
-
That MAY work in a swing door trailer, but not in one with a roll-up door, because then you'll not only have the thickness of the walls taking up part of that extra foot, but also the door jamb and track.Pintlehook Thanks this.

Hmm. I coulda sworn I've gotten 26 in straight on a 53' roll-door trailer. I could be wrong. But I'm pretty sure it is possible. Provided there's no freight overhanging the pallets. With nose and back door thickness accounted for, you should still have a few inches to get the door shut. Of course everything has be tight. Probably not doable very often in the real world, though. The inches always get eaten up by pallets not tight, crooked, or with overhanging freight.Pintlehook Thanks this.

van or reefer, standard pallets (40" X 48"), swing door trailer:
53'
straight 26
pinwheeled or chimney block 28
sideways 30
48'
straight 24
pinwheeled or chimney block 26
sideways 28
OF COURSE when product not overlap the pallets -
There are differant sized pallets, are you using standard pallets?
-
Yep, wasn't accounting for the fact that 95% of our trailers are roll doors. In addition they're dual temp reefers and have the bulkhead "buns" that take some room also. My bad.Bob Dobalina and ajohnson Thank this.
-
And reefers have thick walls from the insulation also.ajohnson Thanks this.

Lettuce on a 53.....is always 30 plts double sideways.....standard loadin shouldn't be an issue.....loaded hundreds like this....123456, Bob Dobalina and mp4694330 Thank this.
