EGR code question

I am guessing it's literally just the 4 bolts and take the pipe clamp off from the back?

Any chance of snapping the bolts? from memory mine is actually 4 nuts, so I think it should be OK.

Did you put on a new gasket?

Yep remove pipe clamp and 4 nuts, I soaked them in PB Blaster and had to use a breaker bar. There kinda weird little locking nuts. They will make a pop (you will think you broke the bolt) when they first break but will come right off after that.
Yeah I am replacing my gasket.

Mine was rusted shut from coolant in the EGR. I removed it and soaked it in white vinegar to remove the rust, used a toothbrush to scrub the inside real well then sprayed some WD-40 on it and it works perfect again.

UPDATE …..if anyone reads this post the EGR valve did not last maybe a week or two. Had to replace it as well as the internal shaft was shot “the one that the butterflies ride on”.
