The reason I was removing egr at about 450000 miles engine started cough and blow black smoke. And yes venturi pipes and delta sensor clogs more offten than egr valve.

Did you notice any performance improvement after you sprayed your valve with carb cleaner? Also, what type of engine? X#1 I'm trying to learn how to clean it buddy, but is the valve all there is to maintain? I'm sorry if that's a noob question but I'm terribly unfamiliar with egr. If I have to remove the turbo then that's something I'm NOT looking forward to - all bolts are rusted to hell and back.

I forgot to mention, DO NOT use any liquids or chemicals cleaning delta p. It's usually just better to replace it because the soot gets up in the diaphragm and there's no way to take it apart.
