2016 fl cascadia. Popping sound from 5th wheel area. Noticed it after 9000 in shop repair on trans. Only taken truck on 2 loads. 5th wheel was over greased on pm. Low fluid levels in rear axle box. Could this be same issue this guys having?
Ekkk! What was that!?

You ever grease the pivot pins on the fifth wheel? That thing really only pivots slowly when turning.
-
when my fld did that it was spring/hanger bushings
-
I put Horton Roller Bushings in the spring hangers on my 88 pete. They lasted forever, I don't know if they even make them any more. They should have been standard equipment.
-
Can still Horton roller bushings. Pricey but the cat's meow.

I Have a Kenworth T700. The popping sound gets loud when am loaded with more than 30K lbs.
One thing I can tell for sure it is coming from the front axle. I took it to a shop cause I thought my kingpins were bad. The replaced both the kingpins and the hub bearings.
The noise got worse. Afraid to put more money in it until I can tell for sure what is wrong with it.
Surprised such a problem is proving difficult to diagnose. Seems a common thing. -
Did you find out what was wrong. I replaced the same parts you did and got the same result (worse)
Thanks
