Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

I'm not too sure about their application. But, with mine... it's listed as:
"No logs for Agricultural Operations." 395.1(k) -
Depends where we go. Right now most of our loads are going within a 225 mile radius
-
I have not seen that on Keep Trucking ELDs
-
I just scanned through their webinar and couldn't find it. It may be something that has to be initiated through the Administrative (Fleet Mgr) Portal.

Your advice is the direct opposite of what the fmcsa website tells you to do....
Agricultural Exceptions and Exemptions to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Hours of Service (HOS) and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Rules
They tell you log out & stay logged out until you breach the 150mi barrier. -
You are right. I just pulled the exemption up . So, how would you handle an ELD?
-
Add that to your log. The ELD will then operate like a time card (showing OnDuty/OffDuty times).
*it may show your Status Changes (on your version) but, the "roadside inspection" version will only show On Duty or Off Duty*
Remove the exemption, once you hit the 150-mark and operate the ELD from there.
Upon inspection, you'll probably be asked "...where did you start?" and "...what is your destination?" so they can verify that you're using the exemption correctly. Keep a copy of this with your permits:
https://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/NewEntrant/MC/Content.aspx?nav=Logs
You should be good-to-go from there. -
Option 2
The driver can log into the ELD when coming on duty and identify the time operating within the 150-air mile radius with an ELD annotation stating that the vehicle was operating under an agricultural HOS exemption.
Most ELDs have a function that will continue to record (what's considered) Unidentified Driving, while not logged-in. What they (the ELD providers) don't tell you... Is, these will continue to compile in your records and "bog-down" the application and the portal. Not to mention, it would make it much more difficult, to calculate your Fuel Tax info, will all of those U.D. Events. -
See now i don’t know how all that works. I know the eld will continue to record wether or not a driver is logged in, it’s the side effects that you mention that i don’t knowBank_Lbr Thanks this.
