ELD decals making you a target?

Why do you guys run an “eld on board” sticker anyway?

I don’t have one on my truck even tho it does have a eld. I guess i’m just not that proud of having a babysitter in my truck with me all the time.

 

Do you notice a lot of single o/o trucks will have those stickers and their truck hasn't been washed in 6 months, duct taped fenders, bungie around the mirror, and dash covered with a foot of junk. But they think that sticker is gonna fool everyone.

 

Is the stupid sticker required?

 

It's the Type of ELD that is getting you the in depth inspection. Officer see's the Qualcom in my truck. Asks to see the summary page and then inquires about the operators sheet.... On to the next step.

They are giving closer inspection because of the track record of drivers falsify their logs with the brand you run.

Didn't think so. Why would anyone want to add more stupid stickers then? Between all the garbage ifta, hut, clean idle, etc.

 

I've talked with a couple of L.E.O. that would focus on trucks without stickers for random level 2/3 roadside pullover inspections.

Had one kinda upset that I had the EOBR and no sticker........ I was "wasting his time".

 

No stickers on my truck, and they still pull me over. Michigan State Police... I show them the ELD and the card and they laugh... Nice guys.
