ELD IS GOING AWAY !!!!!

    My two cents: we switched to ELD's about two years ago and won't look back. They are so easy and save so much time and paper work. When there's problems with traffic/accidents/weather the exceptions mostly work just fine. I'm not for or against the mandate - just telling about my experience.

    I'm just a grouchy old man. I thought it was the young man that had the rebel blood in them. I will leave now and let you guys debate the merits of ELD's

    Thinking the opposite is a sure fire way to end up a slave. Our nation was founded upon the idea that the individual is sovereign and is free to live as each individual sees fit, so long as by doing so they are not infringing upon the rights (Life, Liberty, Property) of others. As such, governments are instituted among men to secure the unalienable Rights (Life, Liberty, Pursuit of Happiness) endowed to us by our Creator, deriving their power by the consent of the governed. Long past is the time where government has only exercised the powers which "We the People" delegated to the government in that contract known as the Constitution. Powers NOT specifically delegated to the feds in the Constitution, nor prohibited to the States by the Constitution, are reserved to the states and to the people. In other words, if the Constitution does not authorize a government action, the government is infringing upon your rights as an individual by acting.

    The more power you yield to the government, the less you have. Someone with no power to run their own life is a slave to those wielding that power. I am a free man, and would rather DIE a free man than live a long life as a slave. As Patrick Henry stated back in 1775: "Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!"

    You really think you are living free far as I see we are all living the same rat race under the thumb of big brother. Those that bring forth unity and equality for all with free thinking don't survive to see the results but you are free to alter the pattern

    What's this about saving time since when has it been time consuming to fill out a log or planning your trip

    Apparently the Swiftication of drivers continues unabated.

    They tell you which route, where to fuel and I'd swear where to dump a load every day. No wonder new drivers think so highly of a computer making their decisions for them. Ain't nobody got time fo dat. (thinking for themselves that is)

    It's funny you use the terms constitution, protection, freedom in the same post you use the word slaves. It's right there in front of you yet you can't see how badly the constitution actually failed to do the very thing it was created to do, since it's creation.
