If I buy a hard wired unit it will not match what my carrier has, if I'm going to be different than them, which they won't allow, then I would run time card or '99 motor exempt. I park at my house every night and have a '99 motor

I’ve gotten used to it. It sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Then it isn't a problem, it don't work. It won't go against you if you get inspected because you ain't suppose to have one. Go paper.

I also have an exempt glider, but leased to a carrier that requires it. I am free to leave and lease elsewhere, but like it where I am. At first I had a problem with the loads not coming across and IT had to figure it out. Once they straightened it out on their end I have had no issues. I would assume they could work it out over the phone for you. My company dispatched the old way until the bugs were worked out with the ELD device dispatch.

If my truck were ELD exempt. If a company insisted on putting one of those inferno machines in my truck. I would look for another company, same as it was when Qualcomm was the big ticket crap. They'd want to drill holes in my truck, but unwilling to pay for the damages to my truck if i were to quit. A resounding NO. So i moved on to another company.

The Pedigree OneView we use is no picnic either. After five months my bluetooth quit connecting, and they had to put a new one in. There have been a ton of software updates which seem to make things slower. I am truly unimpressed with it.

The Qualcomm mcp 110 I had rarely gave any problems, it occasionally needed a hard restart. My company is regretting the switch so far.

I have the POS One20 eld. Doesn't work half the time. I run paper logs everyday to cover my ### because I never know when it decides not to work. I also have to waste time trying to get the One20 to work. Huge PITA. Tech never is any help.

Looking at buying a different unit now.

I say ya'll rip the #### things out, and take em to Washington,D.C and throw at the Secretary of Transportation, D.O.T, and FMCSA. Tell em how you really think of their technology driven japanese crap that has made you homeless, hungry, your wife left you and took the kids, the dog pissed on you and bite you when you tried to enter the now empty home. All because you were made to run an ELD, and you spent more time shut down going broke.

How is the antenna mounted? Werner used to have problems with the 379 Peterbilt. They mounted the antenna underneath the fiberglass air dam on the roof and the fiberglass air dam blocked the satellite signal unless you were facing north. One of their mechanics in Omaha figured out a solution to the problem by fabricating a mounting bracket which extended out from underneath the fiberglass air dam and brought the antenna out into the open which allowed the signal to hit the antenna as long as you were facing west east or north but not facing south which was a 75% Improvement.
