The $30 version offers IFTA Fuel Tax Reporting.
TallJoe Thanks this. -
I have been using it without the ELD. For the time being, that seems to be sufficient. Not sure how the ever-impending and ever-changing new rules are going to affect that, but if there is money to be made, someone will be lobbying for it to cost us. So far, my "Electronic Logging Device" (ELD) is my phone, tablet, or that Rand-McNally tablet GPS. Since those are already paid for, they aren't costing me anything per month... except perhaps for data connectivity, on my phone...

More termed a RODS than ELD if just using logging software..

I wonder how long before someone will find a way to cheat ELDs. We could really use some of those Russian hackers
-
yup till you have your first accident and they dig into your logs and found they have been tampered with....
-
You can only have one ELD.... But you can have two ECM's.......
-
Signals are typically transmitted from the ECM to the ELD, somehow, and that channel can be blocked or fed false data.
Moreover, ELDs can and do break down. When they do, the fall-back is what? Paper logs? The "hail" you say...
-
Yeah, the fall-back is a form the majority in a short time will have NO idea how to fill out correctly.
-
Well, what the "hail"? Nobody trains you how to fill it out inaccurately, to make it at least look legal, now, anyway...
Sublime Thanks this.
