I never understood that saying. Maybe if your a company driver, and even then if your getting paid per mile. More miles = more pay. I work for myself, The sooner I finish my run the sooner I’m home enjoying time off. Why would I want to spend 10hrs a day in a truck when I could be at home instead.Cabinover101 and sealevel Thank this.

12 hours. Since late 1980s/early 1990s

That’s another problem with this industry, not much o/o left. Everyone is just a company driver, and with the help of elogs, soon enough the company drivers will be getting paid hourly and no where close to what the pay should be for a professional driver. But then again, to call some of the drivers “professional drivers” is a joke. If you were ran into the ground, then maybe you shouldn’t have been working for that employer in the first place. Like I’ve stated before, ELDs don’t offer flexibility that is needed in this industry. No matter how well you plan out your trip, something can and will come up to put you off schedule. I pretty much run a total of 4 states, it’s a route that works for me. When I was on ELDs I would constantly run out of time not more the 1-2 hrs from home. Most of the time was due to traffic and it was still light outside. Far from being tired and sleep deprived, but was forced to take a 10hr reset in my truck instead of being at home. What we need is flexibility, even if the ELDs don’t get repealed, something needs to change. Hos reform?D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Quite contrare is your statement man. The vast majority of the industry is made up of small fleets and O/Os. They lack of monetary fire power the big companies have. Big money gets things done a certain way. I don't know why so many people who don't have that kind of money think they can overtake the ones that do. Money talks.alds and Andystrans Thank this.

You and every other American voted them in, most likely without making an informed decision. Single issue voters. Makes sense.alds Thanks this.
