Industry is not ready for ELD
Eld creating problems for most of the drivers that is including owener operators and small business.
Even some DOT officials are not fully understand 10z systems and their eld function so why waste money.
Why not go back to paper with more effective enforcement.

Preaching to the choir, and the grandfathered people are being awakened, too.

I don't know who to contact about questions on HOS, either, the provider took over a year to sort of straighten out split breaks. Sort of.

Cool, neither do I. It’s just a way to record my hours of service, it doesn’t tell me to do anything.

No we have elogs because some idiot thinks all the accidents were caused by drivers over on their hos. What percentage of truck accidents last year was the driver still on paper logs? What percentage of truck accidents before the elog mandate blamed on the driver being over on hours? Why hasn't around that percentage of truck accidents disappeared since the elog mandate?

There would have been a lot more accidents without ELOGs last year.
There are hundreds of people that didn't die or were involved in life changing wrecks with trucks last year because the truck drivers were well rested and alert.
    .
We shouldn't need a law or device to insure that people have 10 hours off between work shifts. That should be common sense, but we have ELOGs because of the lack of common sense these days.

Where's your proof there would have been more accidents without elogs? I haven't heard of any study anywhere saying the rate of accidents changed much at all compared to the years previous, but according to you they should've all but gone away or only been cause any those on paper logs. My dad's been driving truck for 30 years or better he's never had an accident. My grandfather had been a truck driver for I don't know how long, never had an at fault accident that I'm aware of, and he literally drove truck till the day he died. I have several uncles and cousins who've been driving truck for 20 years and never had an accident, all of these were on paper logs, maybe people driving tired isn't actually problem, maybe it's stupid people with less sense than God gave a rock that's the problem.
