I used blue ink tech .. it's free to use the app unless u want to pay for ifta tracking and they have other services as well at like 240 bucks a year... but it's an optional service.

You will have to buy their hardware which attacks to the obd port and that is what connects your eld to the truck.. if I remember it was about 150 bucks.. very simple easy to use logbook and the software keeps good records for maintaining your own records... the ifta tracking services is also worth it in my opinion. It's calculates all your mileage in every state automatically and every quarter you just have to download the quarterly mileage document.. I would still keep your own records as well to verify it is accurate.

 

Motive is the gold standard, but probably the most expensive.

I’m using Samsara now which isn’t too bad either.

can’t comment on the GPS tracker accuracy for IFTA vs manually logging them. I’m sure somebody could say.

 

I have Blue Ink Tech also. Had it since day one.

 

somehow I accidentally posted on the wrong thread opps I guess ill add something anyways. I use motive. Only complaints I had is when I had a device fail it took a long time for them to get it out to me costing me a lot of downtime

 

I’m exempt. I’m local. As a matter a fact, on my last inspection, they never asked for my hours of service. Go figure. I do keep track of my hours on paper.
