This was just like a convo on ch.19 lol. Kinda left where I started. It's all good I'll figure it out. Just wanted to see where you guys stood on the issue of percentage increase. Bottom line for my operation is less freight will move with ELDS. Nothing that can't be handled, but less work for less money will not fly. I'm sure we will figure something out. And I'm sure everyone on here will agree with it lol.

I think my issue is speed. A lot of you drivers on here have really fast trucks. My trucks are much slower, that's why it takes me longer to do the same runs.

I have fairly fast trucks, at least for a company truck, but when I'm in NJ, for some reason they all go much slower! lol

I set my cruise between 63 and 65, still clear $4k+ a week consistently.
    Next excuse for poor planning...

    Nope.
I focus on rates, distance, location, and then I keep my left door closed.

tinytim, HalpinUout and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this.

The trucking industry is so diverse in it's operational characteristics that any prediction Is fruitless. What kills you on HOS may not affect me in the slightest and vice-versa. That is why I have a hearty chuckle when I read about some pointy head economist advising some 3PL that there will X amount of productivity loss.

Yeah, why would doing the job actually increase productivity when someone can hang out at the truck stop and cry they aren't making any money?
Funny, the same people crying about ELDs are also talking trash about those of us who are very profitable, I wonder why? Maybe because some of us actually take responsibility for our actions. IF I fail it is because I made poor choices, not because of an app on my tablet. If I continue to succeed, it is because I have made wise choices, regardless of an app on my tablet.
See how that works? I doubt it.
